MEET THE MULLIGANS

3000 Miles to Cure is inspired by the strength of the life of Jenny Mulligan, who was diagnosed with Stage IV glastoblastoma in October 2012 and her family.  Jenny is Maria’s sister and steadfast encouragement as she trains for RAAM 2013.   Additionally, she is mother with her husband, Ray, to 5 children.  Charlie, 23, lives nearby and works as a financial analyst for Bank of America.  Ethan, 21, and Tim, 19, both attend the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  Grace, 17 and only daughter, is a graduating high school senior.  Joe, 13, is in eighth grade.

We at 3000 Miles to a Cure were rocked when brain cancer extended itself into the life of this tight-knit family.  While schooling all five of her kids at home, Jenny became an active and integral part of each of the family members’ lives.  Because of her active, healthy lifestyle, nobody near to Jenny ever expected such a life-threatening diagnosis.  Brain cancer is never expected.  But none of this has succeeded in dampening this family’s spirits.  The Mulligans stand by their beloved Jenny and resolved to face this new challenge with united joy and courage.

3000 Miles to Cure is inspired and driven by the bravery of the Mulligans and their dedication to see the tradegy of brain cancer be removed from their lives and those of thousands over the world who are also standing strong in the face of cancer.
